Friends of Gwinnett County Public Library
Friends of Gwinnett County Public Library are individuals with a deep loyalty and a strong commitment to the library and its importance to life in Gwinnett County. Members work to strengthen the library through their donation of time, talent, and resources. They help to ensure that libraries throughout the county are intellectual centers of discovery and life-long learning.
Mission Statement
To build awareness of the library and reading through events that highlight the Gwinnett County Public Library and to develop private support for the library.
What do Friends do?
Friends support our library in very important ways
- Promote literacy and the love of books
- Support children's, teen, and adult programs
- Provide volunteer support
- Sponsor cultural and literary events such as Gwinnett Reading Festival, Gwinnett Reads, and special family programs
- Promote library advocacy in the community
- Raise private funds
- Plan and host author events - past authors include Lisa Scottoline and Andre Dubus lll
Friends meet the first Tuesday of every month, 6:00 pm at the Library Administrative Offices. Enter through Lawrenceville Branch.
Membership is open to the public. Membership dues are:
Individual $10.00
Family $15.00
Businesss $50.00
