About Pulp Fashion

Pulp Fashion involves the design and construction of clothing and accessories from paper instead of fabric.  Newspaper, magazines, books from spine to printed page, hand-crafted paper, or just about any paper source can be used in the creation of a pulp fashion item.

Most often, these items involve  recycling since the paper is being creatively repurposed from a publishing medium into an artistic fashion statement.  Also, various forms of reinforment are used to strengthen the paper:  interfacing, wallpaper, glue, paint, bonding mediums, casting techniques, and various finishes have all been employed in creating these pieces.
Creating these pieces has been a collaborative, imaginative, and fun experience for the participants, as well as for those who have seen them on display at the Barefoot in the Park festival, their local branch, and the Hudgens Center for the Arts.

The 2012 exhibit is going on now at the Hudgens Center for the Arts, now through August 25th.
