How to Request Materials
You may request materials using the gold Request Form included in each bag you receive. Just return the Form to us with your materials. If you need to speak to a staff member please call 770-822-5366. If you reach voice mail you are welcome to leave your name and phone number for a call back. If you prefer, you may leave your name and titles of materials you would like to receive.
When you ask for a title that is very popular, we may have to place your name on a waiting list. When the title becomes available, we will hold it for your next shipment. Depending on popularity, requests may take from a few days to several weeks. Your request stays on file until it is available for you. With your permission, we will maintain a record of materials sent to you to avoid sending the same title more than once. This list is confidential and used only by library staff.
All materials check out to you for 42 days. You may return a mail bag of materials as soon as you have finished with them. Anything you wish to keep longer than the normal loan period must be renewed. Because the mail bag has been weighed for postage, you must return all of the items that came in the bag at once. You may renew all items in a bag even if you only need to keep one or two so that you can return them together.
Materials that you wish to keep longer than 42 days may be renewed by telephone by calling 770-822-5366 and speaking to a Mailbox Books staff member. If there is a request for another customer on any item you have checked out, it may not be renewed.
Damaged or Lost Materials:
Although all Mailbox Books materials are exempt from extended loan fees, you will be responsible for the full replacement cost for any materials damaged or not returned. Past due accounts of over $25.00 will be referred to a collection agency and you will be charged an additional $10.00.
