Our Summer Reading Challenge is for readers of all ages. You do not need to have a library card to sign up.
Challenge Dates: June 1 – July 31 (Pre-registration begins on May 1)
How To Participate: Sign up, log minutes, and win prizes!
SIGN UP: To sign up, ask a staff member for help registering OR go online to your library Beanstack account and register for the Summer Reading Challenge. You can also download the Beanstack app for your mobile device and use it to sign up and track your progress. Each child that signs up for our Summer Reading Challenge will receive a free child’s ticket to the Aurora Children’s Playhouse.
LOG MINUTES: Keep track of your reading minutes this summer and earn prizes along the way. There are two ways to track your minutes:
- Visit the library and ask a staff member for a paper log. We will give you a picture of a bookshelf to color in. Color a book each time you read for 30 minutes. When you’ve colored a whole shelf, you win a prize! OR
- Visit the library Beanstack page to log your minutes. You can either go online or download the Beanstack app for your mobile device. Beanstack will let you know when you’ve reached a new prize level.
WIN PRIZES: Each time you reach a new reading goal, you qualify to win a prize.

Zoo Atlanta, Medieval Times, Pirates’ Cove Mini Golf, Tree Top Quest, Catch Air, Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary, and Andretti Indoor Karting & Games.
MORE SUMMER FUN!
Every good adventure comes with souvenirs! This year, you can earn a weekly brag tag and one bracelet to display them. To get yours, just visit a library branch and check out a book. Show a staff member your check out receipt for that day, and you will get that week’s brag tag. (While supplies last.) Brag tags are limited in quantity, so try to collect all ten!

MAGIC! June 3-8
Magician Ken Scott will visit all fifteen branches with his amazing comedy-magic show.
For Ages 4+
PIRATES! June 12-20
Sail the high seas and search for buried treasure at a library Pirate Party. Crafts, games, and fun (costumes welcome.)
For ages 5 -10.
PUPPETS! June 24 – July 12
Watch adventure stories come to life in our library Puppet Show, featuring funny stories from the pages of your favorite picture books.
For ages 4+.
DEMIGODS! July 16 -18
Percy Jackson fans, you have been invited to a Camp Halfblood experience. Challenge yourself with trivia and feats of skill.
For ages 9 – 14.
WIZARDS! July 31
Help us wish a Happy Birthday to Harry Potter at this after hours event. For our adult customers (ages 18+). Registration preferred.
