Tell your Civil Rights Story
Thanks to a grant from the Library of Congress, GCPL is collecting oral histories from Gwinnett residents on how major moments in Civil and Voting rights history have impacted their lives.
Excerpts from the oral histories will be used in library programming about the Civil Rights movement for audiences of all ages. All Gwinnett residents are welcome to complete the form below if they have a story with relevance to the Civil Rights movement to share.
Individuals are especially sought who:
- Actively participated in organized movements to obtain justice and equality for African Americans;
- Have been personally impacted by segregation, discrimination, denial of the right to vote, or other injustices;
- Lived in Gwinnett County during the Civil Rights milestones.
